EVERY DECK PROJECT IS UNIQUE
Every project is unique, and we want to explore every path possible for achieving the goal of building and improving the health, beauty, and functionality of your outdoor spaces. Hardscapes can guide the flow of the landscape; and at Land Design Landscaping, we consider the natural elements of your land to be a crucial part of creating that flow. The investment you’ve made in your property should benefit your budget and provide you with an environment that is conducive and complementary to the natural elements around it. At Land Design Landscaping, we design hardscapes that enhance and enliven your garden, plays up your pool, or provides you with the perfect platform for your outdoor living area. We believe that each and every landscape can be an oasis, and a hardscape is often the ideal solution in achieving exactly that.
WOOD DECKS (EXOTIC HARDWOODS & CEDAR)
Wood decking is probably the most beautiful, but requires the most maintenance. There are new stains and sealants that help to protect and reduce deterioration, allowing you to still enjoy a more natural appearance. You can also look for woods that are harvested from renewable forests as well.
Ipe (pronounced “EE – pay”) is a sustainable harvested tropical hardwood, sometimes called ironwood or Brazilian walnut. It is extremely hard and durable and is very resistant to insects and rot. The grade we use is virtually knot-free. Like all wood, it weathers to a gray (the color of tree bark) unless it is treated. Untreated, it should last at least twice as long as cedar or redwood; so treatment is mainly cosmetic. The most popular treatment is Mesmers oil which maintains the rich brown color.
COMPOSITE & PVC DECKS
Composite decking, such as the Trex brand, is a wonderful alternative to wood. It is made from recycled plastics, and requires very little maintenance. It is available in many color options, and once installed provides a clean surface that won’t fade, warp, deteriorate, or crack.
UNDERDECKING
Create a dry space under a deck.
Underdecking attaches to the underside of elevated decks turning the area below into a clean, dry, and bright space. Convert the space under a second-story deck into a dry, spacious patio by installing this simple, under-the-deck roof and gutter system. This system offers a variety of uses for the space under your deck, including patio space, a hot tub area, screened enclosure, storage area, and many other creative ideas.
Our system keeps all water and debris from falling through your deck onto your outdoor décor, hot tubs, etc. The high quality finish provides a dry and very comfortable area for dining, entertaining, play areas for kids and grandkids, and overall outdoor enjoyment of your home rain or shine.

Screened Porches
with Ipe Exotic Hardwood Decking
Bugs and excessive exposure sun exposure have increased the demand for protected casual spaces like screened porches. New materials and techniques have greatly reduced the maintenance demands of a screened porch and allowed it to blend into the home, rather than look like it was added as an afterthought.
Based on our own experiences and those of our customers, the screened porch quickly becomes the room of choice for the entire family.
Ipe / Ironwood is an exotic hardwood from Brazil and possesses some of the greatest characteristics of any decking material.
Your deck will be rich, deep colors that deliver unparalleled beauty, and tight grain and hardness that delivers extraordinary durability.
Pergolas & Arbors
Shade structures provide shelter for your outdoor living space. From gazebos or a simple weather canopy, to fully functional pool houses Land Design is ready to help in selecting the shade structure that is right for your retreat. In the selection and design of a shade structure, we carefully consider how often you intend to use the structure, how many people you generally entertain, and the level of protection from the elements you require.
Trellises
Trellises are a great way to bring attention to a specific part of your yard. Many people place them strategically so that they have more privacy from close neighbors.Trellises are incredibly versatile components of a landscape. They are great as stand-alone art pieces but they can serve a variety of functions: screening utility equipment or unwanted views, framing a desirable view, adding a little privacy, or just providing a place to grow a beautiful climber like honeysuckle or clematis.
